Standby Generators for your Cottage
Request a QuoteDon’t let your weekend at the cottage be ruined by a power outage.
You work all week, head to the lake, cut the grass, sit down to relax and … the power is out.. Or worse, you’re away in the winter and a power outage results in frozen pipes and a big insurance claim. These are all problems of the past when you install a standby generator.
A permanently installed standby generator protects your cottage automatically. These generators run on natural gas, propane or diesel and sit outside your cottage just like a central air conditioning unit. Within seconds of the power going out your generator kicks in restoring power to all the vital components inside your cottage – furnace, fridge, lights and sensitive electronics like computers and televisions.

The Installation Process.
Your Shordee Technician arrives at your home with your generator and everything needed to install and commission your generator. Once the generator is installed and connected to your homes power system, we run a load bank test to ensure that your generator is running at factory specifications. If it doesn’t pass this test, it probably won’t pass the test when the power goes out either. If you are talking to your local contractor about a generator, make sure to ask them if they do a factory authorized commissioning of your generator and if that includes a load bank test.
