Deliver constant power to your business.
The power is out again. When will it be back on? In a few minutes or a few hours. Nobody knows if you should close the store or if everybody should go home. Many of our businesses are in older areas where power infrastructure is not very good. When you put the power in your hands with a standby generator, you are ensuring that business operations continue. No matter what the power grid has to say about it.
A small outage, lasting 3 or 4 hours, could cost:
- 30 lost hours of productivity for a team of 10
- Thousands of dollars of lost revenue if you are a retail business that must close
- Tens of thousands of dollars if you are a manufacturer who has to start that batch over again.
- Even more if critical machinery is not protected and fails during a bad power outage.
These are just a few examples of just how costly power outages are. A permanently installed standby generator protects your business automatically. It runs on natural gas, diesel or propane and sits outside your building just like a central air conditioning unit. Within seconds of the power going out, your generator kicks in, restoring power to all the vital components inside your business – computers, lights, point of sale machines. If you pair this standby generator with UPS batteries and cellular communication devices, you can continue working without missing a beat. Meetings can continue, Customers can shop, heavy equipment can be paused, allowing it to be started up again without lost production.
Choosing the right generator.
With different manufacturers to choose from and a whole bunch of different models, there are two easy ways to choose your generator. You can use our online sizing tool by clicking here. It will collect some information about your business and the critical components that you want available. Our trained sales consultants can help you pick the right generator for your business needs.
The Installation Process.
Your Shordee Technician arrives at your business with your generator and everything needed to install and commission it. Once the generator is installed and connected to your power system, we run a load bank test to ensure that your generator is running at factory specifications. If it doesn’t pass this test, it probably won’t pass the test when the power goes out either. If you are talking to your local contractor about a generator, make sure to ask them if they do a factory certified commissioning of your generator and if that includes a load bank test.
How much does a standby generator cost?
The cost of your generator will vary depending on the size of the system and which features we specify. The best way to price out a standby generator is to use our online sizing tool and we can give you a price quote on the generator that fits your needs.
